Beyaz Warnings and Precautions

Who Should Not Use Beyaz?

You should avoid Beyaz if you:
  • Are allergic to it, to drospirenone, to ethinyl estradiol, or to any of the inactive components used to make the birth control pill. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive components.
  • Have liver or kidney disease.
  • Have adrenal insufficiency.
  • Have a blood clotting disorder that causes you to clot too easily or have ever had a blood clot.
  • Have heart disease.
  • Have had a stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA or mini-stroke).
  • Have problems with your heart valves that increase your risk of blood clots.
  • Have high blood pressure (hypertension).
  • Have diabetes that has affected your eyes, kidneys, or blood vessels.
  • Have an upcoming major surgery that will require you to be immobilized for several days.
  • Have headaches with neurological symptoms (such as migraines with aura).
  • Have a history of breast cancer or endometrial cancer (cancer of the lining of the uterus).
  • Have undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding.
  • Have had yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin (jaundice) during a prior pregnancy or oral contraceptive use.
  • Have liver tumors.
  • Are pregnant (or think you may be pregnant).
  • Are a heavy smoker (15 or more cigarettes per day) and over the age of 35.
