Candida Symptoms: An Overview
Candida symptoms in women may be mild or very uncomfortable. Possible symptoms may include:
- Itching, burning, and irritation of the vagina
- Itching, redness, and irritation of the vulva
- Painful urination and/or intercourse
- Abnormal vaginal discharge.
If the abnormal discharge occurs, it is usually described as looking like cottage cheese. But the discharge may vary in amount and appearance. It does not have a bad odor.
Candida symptoms can be similar to symptoms of other kinds of vaginal infections, such as
bacterial vaginosis.
Candida Symptoms in Males
Most male partners of women with
yeast infections do not have any
Candida symptoms. Some men, however, have reported symptoms after sexual intercourse if condoms were not used. These
Candida symptoms can include temporary rashes and a burning sensation on the penis.
