Drug Interactions With Daysee

More Detail on Drug Interactions With Daysee

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Daysee is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Aminoglutethimide
Aminoglutethimide can make Daysee less effective, possibly increasing your risk of pregnancy. Talk with your healthcare provider before using these medications together. You may need to use a backup method of contraception, such as condoms.

Antibiotics
There have been reports of accidental pregnancy occurring in women taking birth control pills together with certain antibiotics. There is disagreement as to how significant and severe these interactions may be. Some antibiotics are more likely to cause problems than others (see Antibiotics and Birth Control Pills). Ask your healthcare provider if you need to use a backup method of contraception any time you take an antibiotic.

Aprepitant
Aprepitant can make Daysee less effective, perhaps increasing your chance of pregnancy. Talk with your healthcare provider before using these medications together. You may need to use a backup method of contraception.

Atorvastatin
Atorvastatin may increase the level of Daysee in your blood, which can increase your risk of side effects. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.

Barbiturates
Barbiturates may cause your body to metabolize the hormones in Daysee too quickly, which could increase your risk of pregnancy. Ask your healthcare provider if you should use a different method of contraception while taking a barbiturate.

Cyclosporine
Daysee may increase the level of cyclosporine in your blood, possibly increasing the chance of side effects. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. You may need a lower cyclosporine dosage, or you may need to switch to a different method of contraception.

Modafinil
Modafinil can make Daysee less effective, possibly increasing your risk of pregnancy. Talk with your healthcare provider if you are taking both of these drugs, as you may need to use a backup method of contraception.

Protease Inhibitors
Using Daysee with a protease inhibitor may increase your risk of pregnancy and can make the protease inhibitor less effective. Talk with your healthcare provider before combining these two medications.

Selegiline
The hormones in Daysee may increase the level of selegiline in your blood, possibly increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to lower your selegiline dosage or may recommend an alternative form of contraception.

St. John's Wort
St. John's wort (a commonly used herbal supplement) may decrease the effectiveness of Daysee, possibly increasing the chance of pregnancy. In general, you should not take these products together.

Theophylline
Daysee may increase the level of theophylline in your blood, which could increase the chance of side effects. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. You may need a lower theophylline dosage, or you may need to switch to a different method of contraception.

Various Seizure Medications
Some seizure medications may cause your body to metabolize the hormones in Daysee too quickly, which could increase your risk of pregnancy. Ask your healthcare provider if you should use a different method of contraception while taking a seizure medication.
