Drug Interactions With Daysee

If cyclosporine, barbiturates, or certain seizure medications are taken with Daysee, drug interactions could occur. These may increase your chance of pregnancy or increase your risk of developing side effects. Other medicines that may react negatively with Daysee include protease inhibitors, atorvastatin, modafinil, and aprepitant, just to name a few.

An Overview of Daysee Interactions

Daysee™ (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) is a prescription birth control pill (oral contraceptive) and is a generic version of Seasonale®. It can potentially react with numerous other medicines. Some of the drugs that may interact with Daysee include:
  • Aminoglutethimide (Cytadren®)
  • Antibiotics
  • Aprepitant (Emend®)
  • Atorvastatin (Lipitor®) or combination medications that contain atorvastatin (Caduet®, Liptruzet™)
  • Barbiturate medications, such as:
    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)
