Serious Side Effects

Some depo-subQ Provera 104 side effects are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
    • Vision or speech changes
    • Weakness or numbness in an arm or leg
    • A severe headache
  • Signs of a blood clot in the lung, such as:
    • Shortness of breath
    • Sudden chest pain
    • Coughing up blood
  • Signs of a blood clot in the leg, such as severe pain or swelling of the calf
  • Severe abdominal (stomach) pain
  • Signs of liver damage, such as:
    • Yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin (jaundice)
    • Dark urine
    • Upper-right abdominal (stomach) pain
  • Seizures
  • Depression
  • Persistent abnormal menstrual periods or heavy vaginal bleeding
  • Injection site reactions, such as severe or persistent pain, soreness, pus, or bleeding
  • A change in blood glucose levels, especially if you have diabetes
  • Breast lumps
  • Nipple discharge or bleeding
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Unexplained swelling of the mouth or throat
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing or swallowing.
