Diflucan Drug Interactions

A number of medications may interact with Diflucan. Drug interactions can occur if the antifungal medicine is taken with cyclosporine, phenytoin, theophylline, or certain benzodiazepines. These interactions may lead to dangerous irregular heart rhythms and other serious side effects. Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking before starting Diflucan.

An Overview of Diflucan Interactions

Diflucan® (fluconazole) can potentially interact with several other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Diflucan include:
 
  • Certain benzodiazepines, such as:
 
 
  • Cisapride (Propulsid®)
  • Conivaptan (Vaprisol®)
  • Cyclosporine (Gengraf®, Neoral®, Sandimmune®)
  • Dofetilide (Tikosyn®)
  • Nilotinib (Tasigna®)
  • Phenytoin (Dilantin®, Phenytek®)
  • Pimozide (Orap®)
  • Quinidine
  • Quinine
  • Ranolazine (Ranexa®)
  • Rifabutin (Mycobutin®)
  • Rifampin (Rifadin®)
  • Sulfonylureas, such as:
