Precautions and Warnings With Estarylla

You may have an increased risk for heart attacks, blood clots, and strokes if you smoke cigarettes while taking Estarylla. Also, women who have a history of depression, migraines, or gallbladder disease should pay special attention to the warnings and precautions with Estarylla. Women who have heart disease, a history of breast cancer, or certain other medical issues should not take this product.


What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

Estarylla™ (norgestimate/ethinyl estradiol) is a prescription birth control pill that is a generic version of Ortho-Cyclen®. You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Estarylla if you have:

  • Have an upcoming surgery
  • Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant (or suspect that you may be pregnant)
  • Are breastfeeding.
You should also tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
