Femcon Fe Warnings and Precautions

Prior to using Femcon Fe, warnings and precautions for the hormonal contraceptive should be understood. For example, you should be aware of the increased risk of blood clots, potential drug interactions, and the danger of side effects, such as high blood pressure or depression. Femcon Fe warnings and precautions also extend to women with certain allergies, as well as women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Although birth control pills are a convenient and effective method of birth control, they are not safe for all women. You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Femcon™ Fe (norethindrone/ethinyl estradiol) if you have:

  • Smoke cigarettes
  • Have an upcoming surgery
  • Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding.
     
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
