What If I Overdose on Hydroxyprogesterone Caproate?

In studies, an overdose with hydroxyprogesterone caproate was not particularly dangerous; in fact, overdoses did not appear to cause any serious side effects.

How Should This Medication Be Stored?

Hydroxyprogesterone caproate should be stored at room temperature, protected from prolonged exposure to light. Keep it upright, and store the vial in the original box. Each vial contains five doses. These doses must be used up within five weeks of the first use of the vial. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets.

Generic Versions

Hydroxyprogesterone caproate is not commercially available in generic form. However, some compounding pharmacies may make their own versions (see Generic Makena).
