Junel

Junel is a prescription oral contraceptive that contains two different types of hormones. The medication comes in a pack of 21 tablets; you must take one tablet daily, at the same time each day. Once you finish a pack, wait seven days before starting the next pack. Potential side effects of Junel include spotting, nausea, and headache.

What Is Junel?

Junel^™ (norethindrone/ethinyl estradiol) is a prescription oral contraceptive (commonly known as a birth control pill). The drug is a generic version of the birth control pill Loestrin^®. Microgestin^® is the other generic version of Loestrin.

Junel Side Effects

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Junel.

However, not everyone who uses the contraceptive will experience side effects. In fact, most women tolerate it quite well.

If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.

Common side effects of birth control pills include but are not limited to:

Breakthrough bleeding or spotting between periods
Acne
Nausea (with or without vomiting)
Breast tenderness
Headaches.
