LaViv Warnings and Precautions

People who are undergoing treatment with LaViv have an increased risk for developing infections, serious skin damage, or certain other complications. Other safety warnings and precautions with LaViv apply to people who have certain medical conditions, such as skin cancer, any allergies, or an overactive immune system. Some people, such as anyone who has an infection near the treatment area, should avoid LaViv entirely.

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using LaViv™ (azficel-T) if you have:
  • Any problems that affect your immune system
  • A history of unusual, aggressive scarring (keloid scarring or hypertrophic scarring)
  • Plans to undergo chemotherapy
  • Any allergies, including to food, dyes, or preservatives.
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:
  • Pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant
  • Breastfeeding.
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
