Leena

Leena is a combined oral contraceptive, which means that it contains both an estrogen and a progestin. This prescription birth control pill must be taken every day, at the same time each day. It works by stopping ovulation, altering the cervical mucus, and changing the lining of the uterus. Possible side effects include headaches, nausea, and breast tenderness.

What Is Leena?

Leena^® (norethindrone/ethinyl estradiol) is a prescription birth control pill (technically known as an oral contraceptive). It is a generic version of Tri-Norinyl^®and is also equivalent to Aranelle™.

Side Effects

As with any medicine, Leena can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the contraceptive will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.

If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.

Common side effects of Leena include, but are not limited to:

Breakthrough bleeding or spotting (between periods)
Headaches
Nausea, with or without vomiting
Breast tenderness and swelling.
