How Should Levonorgestrel-Releasing Intrauterine System Be Stored?

This medication will usually be stored by your healthcare provider. It should be stored at room temperature, in its sterile package, until ready for use. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets.

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?

If you miss your appointment to have levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system removed or inserted, contact your healthcare provider right away to reschedule. He or she will instruct you on what to do. Make sure to ask your healthcare provider about using a backup method of birth control until you can be rescheduled.
