Levothroid Drug Interactions

Drug interactions with Levothroid may occur if you take certain medications (including several non-prescription products). Some of these Levothroid drug interactions may interfere with the body's ability to absorb Levothroid. As a result, your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dosage or you may need to separate your medications by a few hours. Some of the medicines that may interact with Levothroid include antacids, digoxin, and iron.

 

An Overview of Levothroid Drug Interactions

Levothroid® (levothyroxine sodium) may interact with several other medications, including numerous non-prescription products. Some of the medicines that may potentially lead to Levothroid interactions include:
 
  • Antacids or gas-relieving medications
  • Antidepressant medications
  • Calcium products, including vitamin supplements and calcium-rich foods
  • Certain seizure medications, such as:
