(Click Levothroid Overdose for more information.)

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?

If you forget to take your Levothroid dose, take your missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose. Each time you get your blood tests to monitor your thyroid function, be sure to tell your healthcare provider if you have missed any doses, as this may affect dose adjustments.

Available Strengths

Levothroid tablets come in the following strengths (the colors of the tablets are in parentheses):
  • Levothroid 25 mcg (orange)
  • Levothroid 50 mcg (white)
  • Levothroid 75 mcg (violet)
  • Levothroid 88 mcg (mint green)
  • Levothroid 100 mcg (yellow)
  • Levothroid 112 mcg (rose)
  • Levothroid 125 mcg (brown)
  • Levothroid 137 mcg (deep blue)
  • Levothroid 150 mcg (blue)
  • Levothroid 175 mcg (lilac)
  • Levothroid 200 mcg (pink)
  • Levothroid 300 mcg (green).
Sometimes, the strengths are given in milligrams (mg) instead of micrograms (mcg), which can be confusing. Because there are 1000 mcg in every mg, Levothroid 100 mcg is the same thing as Levothroid 0.1 mg.
