Each pack of
Loestrin 24 Fe contains the same "strength" of hormones for the first three weeks (the first 21 tablets, which are white). The last four pills in the pack, which are brown, do not contain any hormones; however, they do contain iron, which can help prevent anemia due to blood loss during a woman's period.
When starting this type of
birth control pill, you can either start it on the first day of your period or on the first Sunday after your period starts. If you miss a dose, your instructions to get back on track will depend on if you are a "day 1 starter" or a "Sunday starter."
