LoSeasonique Drug Interactions
Antibiotics, barbiturates, and certain seizure medications are among the drugs that may negatively interact with LoSeasonique. Drug interactions such as these can alter the amount of medications in your blood, possibly increasing your risk of pregnancy or certain side effects. To avoid drug interactions, tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are currently taking.
LoSeasonique® (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) can potentially interact with several other medicines. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with LoSeasonique include:
- Aminoglutethimide (Cytadren®)
- Antibiotics
- Aprepitant (Emend®)
- Armodafinil (Nuvigil™)
- Barbiturates, such as:
- Amobarbital (Amytal®)
- Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
- Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
- Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
- Secobarbital (Seconal®)
- Bosentan (Tracleer®)
- Certain seizure medications, such as:
- Carbamazepine (Carbatrol®, Epitol®, Equetro™, Tegretol®)
- Felbamate (Felbatol®)
- Lamotrigine (Lamictal®)
- Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal®)
- Phenytoin (Dilantin®, Phenytek®)
- Topiramate (Topamax®)
- Colesevelam (WelChol®)
- Cyclosporine (Gengraf®, Neoral®, Sandimmune®)
- Modafinil (Provigil®)
- Mycophenolate mofetil (CellCept®)
- Protease inhibitors, such as:
- Amprenavir (Agenerase®)
- Atazanavir (Reyataz®)
- Fosamprenavir (Lexiva®)
- Indinavir (Crixivan®)
- Nelfinavir (Viracept®)
- Ritonavir (Norvir®)
- Selegiline (Eldepryl®, Emsam®, Zelapar®)
- St. John's wort
- Warfarin (Coumadin®, Jantoven®).
