Lysteda Uses

Can Children Use It?

This medication has been studied in girls as young as 12 years of age. No dosage adjustment is needed for adolescents, meaning that girls 12 and older can use the normal Lysteda dosage. Of course, it is not intended for use in girls who have not started their periods yet.

Off-Label Uses for Lysteda

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this product for something other than heavy menstrual bleeding (this would be known as an "off-label" use). The injectable form of tranexamic acid (Cyklokapron®) is used for short-term use to reduce the risk of hemorrhage in people with bleeding disorders such as hemophilia. It is possible that Lysteda could be used off-label in such a manner.
