Who Should Not Take Lysteda?

You should avoid Lysteda if you:
  • Are allergic to it, to tranexamic acid, or to any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
  • Currently have a blood clot.
  • Have ever had a blood clot.
  • Are at a high risk for blood clots due to a genetic clotting disorder, heart valve disease, or certain heart arrhythmias.
  • Are taking combined hormonal contraceptives (which contain both an estrogen and progestin component), such as most birth control pills, patches, and rings.
