Scars and Myomectomy

You will have a scar following a myomectomy. In most cases, the scar will heal without any problems. However, it is possible that you will develop abnormal scars, especially if you have a history of keloids (excessive, thick scarring). Talk with a dermatologist and your physician if you are concerned with these issues. The appearance of the scars will not predict the results of your operation. Patients with enlarged scars can still have excellent surgical results.
