Nestabs DHA Drug Interactions

Nestabs DHA Drug Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Nestabs DHA is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
Bisphosphonate Medications
The minerals in Nestabs DHA may decrease the amount of bisphosphonate absorbed into the body. However, bisphosphonates are generally not recommended for pregnant women, so this interaction is usually not a problem. If your healthcare provider recommends a bisphosphonate while you are taking Nestabs DHA, make sure to take your vitamin at least two hours after your bisphosphonate dose.
Fluoroquinolone ("Quinolone") Antibiotics
The minerals in Nestabs DHA may reduce the amount of fluoroquinolone antibiotics absorbed into the body. If your healthcare provider recommends that you take Nestabs DHA and a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, make sure to take the antibiotic at least two hours before, or six hours after, your Nestabs DHA dose.
Medications That Thin the Blood
In theory, the omega-3 fatty acids in Nestabs DHA may increase the risk for bleeding when taken with medications that thin the blood, such as antiplatelet and anticoagulant medications. If your healthcare provider tells you to take Nestabs DHA with a medication that thins the blood, make sure to watch for and report any unusual bleeding or bruising.
Tetracycline Antibiotics
The minerals in Nestabs DHA may prevent tetracycline antibiotics from being properly absorbed into the body. This interaction is usually not a problem because tetracycline antibiotics are generally not recommended for pregnant women. However, if your healthcare provider determines you need a tetracycline antibiotic, make sure to take the antibiotic at least two hours before, or six hours after, your Nestabs DHA dose.
