Nystatin for Children

Nystatin is an antifungal medication that is available by prescription. It comes in many different forms and is approved for treating a wide variety of different fungal infections, including yeast infections and thrush.
Healthcare providers often recommend this medicine for children. Nystatin has been shown to be safe and effective even in newborns. Talk with your child's healthcare provider about the benefits and risks of using nystatin in children.
Nystatin is commonly used to treat diaper rashes caused by yeast infections and to treat thrush. Keep in mind that when treating thrush in a breastfed infant, it is often necessary to treat both the infant and the mother.
