Were you looking for information about Nystatin? Nystatine is a common misspelling of nystatin.
The antifungal medicine nystatin is used for treating infections caused by certain fungi. It is commonly used to treat fungal infections such as thrush and yeast diaper rash. Since the medicine is not significantly absorbed into the bloodstream, it is not effective for fungal infections other than those on the surface of the body (which can be treated with ointments, creams, or powders) or those of the digestive tract (which can be treated with oral tablets and liquid solution).
(Click Nystatin for more information on how the medication works, what side effects may occur, and when and how it should be used. You can also click on the various links in the box to the right to access specific topics on nystatin.)
