An Introduction to Side Effects of Orally Disintegrating Phentermine

Just like any medicine, orally disintegrating phentermine (Suprenza™) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.

Serious Orally Disintegrating Phentermine Side Effects

Some side effects of orally disintegrating phentermine are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
  • Signs of a dangerous condition known as primary pulmonary hypertension, such as:
    • Shortness of breath
    • Chest pain
    • Fatigue
    • Dizziness or fainting
    • Swelling of the legs or ankles
    • Blue lips or skin
  • High blood pressure (hypertension)
  • A rapid, irregular, or forcefully beating heart
  • Pain or pressure in the chest
  • A sudden, unexplained weight gain
  • Seeing, hearing, or believing things that are not there or are not true (hallucinations or psychosis)
  • Extreme feelings of happiness
  • Restlessness, agitation, irritability, or aggression
  • Any unusual thoughts or behaviors
  • Problems sleeping
  • A desire to take more phentermine than prescribed
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Unexplained swelling
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing or swallowing.
