Dosing Information

There is only one standard dose of Ortho Micronor, regardless of age, weight, or medical conditions. As always, do not adjust this amount unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Are There Side Effects?

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Ortho Micronor. However, not everyone who uses the contraceptive will experience problems. In fact, most women tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
Commonly reported problems include but are not limited to:
  • Irregular menstrual periods
  • Headaches
  • Breast tenderness
  • Nausea.

Drug Interactions

Ortho Micronor can interact with several other medications (see Ortho Micronor Drug Interactions).

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Ortho Micronor if you have:
  • Diabetes
  • Cancer (or if you have had cancer in the past)
  • Liver disease, including liver failure, cirrhosis, hepatitis, or liver tumors
  • Migraines or other unusual or severe headaches
  • Unexplained vaginal bleeding.
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:
