Dosing Information

It is important that you follow Ovcon dosing instructions very carefully, in order to avoid unintentional pregnancy. There are two different doses of Ovcon available (Ovcon 35 and Ovcon 50). As always, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
(Click Ovcon Dosage for more information, including how to start Ovcon and what to do about missed pills.)

Side Effects

As with any medicine, Ovcon can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the contraceptive will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
Common side effects of birth control pills include, but are not limited to:
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Breast tenderness
  • Acne
  • Headaches
  • Breakthrough bleeding or spotting (between periods).
(Click Ovcon Side Effects to learn more, including potentially serious side effects that you should report immediately to your healthcare provider.)

Drug Interactions With Ovcon

Ovcon can interact with several other medications (see Ovcon Drug Interactions).
