Ovcon Side Effects

Even though many women have no trouble tolerating Ovcon, side effects are possible. Some of the bothersome (but not usually dangerous) side effects include changes in sex drive, nausea, and bloating. In most cases, these side effects are minor and are easily treated. As with any medicine, Ovcon^® (norethindrone/ethinyl estradiol) can cause side effects. However, not every woman who uses it will experience side effects. In fact, most women tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. Many of the common side effects of Ovcon may improve within the first few cycles of use.

Common Ovcon Side Effects

Only vague information is available about Ovcon side effects. In fact, the possible side effects listed in the prescribing information of Ovcon are actually the side effects of all birth control pills in general (not necessarily of Ovcon in particular). Some of the common, bothersome (but not usually dangerous) side effects of birth control pills include:

Nausea and vomiting
Bloating
Changes in your eyes that make it more difficult to wear contact lenses
Breast tenderness or other breast changes (such as swelling)
Headaches (although birth control pills can improve headaches in some women)
Breakthrough bleeding and spotting between periods
Changes in sex drive (typically a decrease).
