Prostin E2 Dosage

Women who are receiving Prostin E2 will be given one suppository, which is inserted by a healthcare provider in a hospital setting. You must remain lying down for at least 10 minutes after the suppository is inserted. If needed, additional Prostin E2 doses may be administered every three to five hours. However, this medicine should not be used for more than 48 hours.

An Introduction to Dosing With Prostin E2

The dose of Prostin E2® (dinoprostone vaginal suppository) your healthcare provider recommends will depend on how you respond to the medication. As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Recommended Prostin E2 Dosage

The recommended dosage of Prostin E2 is one suppository, inserted intravaginally (into the vagina). Prostin E2 should be brought to room temperature and the foil removed before use. If the first dose does not produce the desired response, your healthcare provider may recommend additional suppositories every three to five hours. The medication should not be used for longer than 48 hours.
