- Kidney disease, such as kidney failure (renal failure)
- Liver disease, such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, or liver failure
- Heart disease, such as heart failure, chest pain (angina), or a recent heart attack
- Lung disease, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or asthma
- Low or high blood pressure (hypotension or hypertension)
- Anemia (low red blood cell counts)
- Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes)
- Diabetes
- A seizure disorder or a history of seizures
- A vaginal or pelvic infection, such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), vaginitis, or cervicitis
- Uterine scarring
- Any allergies, including to foods, dyes, or preservatives.
In addition, let your healthcare provider know if you are breastfeeding or taking any other medications, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
