Provera Tablet

Provera® (medroxyprogesterone acetate) is a medicine that contains a synthetic form of a progestin hormone called medroxyprogesterone. This manufactured hormone is similar to progesterone, a natural hormone made by the body. It is used in women who are having irregular periods or no periods at all, or in certain postmenopausal women who are taking estrogen.
Available in the form of a tablet, Provera comes in several strengths and is typically taken once a day for a certain number of days during the menstrual cycle. The specific dosage will depend on various factors, including the reason this medicine is being used and how the person responds to it.
Although most people tolerate Provera tablets well, side effects may occur and can include headaches, spotting, and breast tenderness.
