Sculptra Drug Interactions

Sculptra® (injectable poly-L lactic acid) is a facial filler used to treat facial fat loss due to HIV, as well as wrinkles and folds in people without HIV. There are currently no known drug interactions with Sculptra, and no significant interactions are expected.
No studies have been done to evaluate whether it is safe and effective to directly mix Sculptra with any other drugs or substances, including anesthetics or other fillers. Some healthcare providers may replace some of the water that is used to mix up Sculptra (which comes as a dry powder) with an anesthetic, but this practice has not been thoroughly studied.
There may be drug interactions that are currently unknown but that may be discovered at a later date. Therefore, it is always a good idea to include Sculptra in your list of medications when checking for interactions. Also, talk with your healthcare provider about any possible interactions that may apply to you.
