Side Effects of Sculptra

Sculptra can cause side effects. However, not everyone who receives the treatment will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well. If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
Possible side effects of Sculptra include but are not limited to:
  • Swelling
  • Tenderness
  • Redness
  • Pain.

Potential Drug Interactions

Sculptra is unlikely to interact with medicines (see Sculptra Drug Interactions).

Important Information for Your Healthcare Provider

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to receiving this treatment if you have:
  • Plans to undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or a computer tomography (CT) scan
  • A history of unusual, aggressive scarring (keloid scarring or hypertrophic scarring)
  • Any allergies, including to foods, dyes, or preservatives.
