Seasonique Drug Interactions

If you are taking other medications with Seasonique, drug interactions may occur. Some of the medicines that can interact with Seasonique include antibiotics, barbiturates, and certain seizure medications. Some of these interactions can make Seasonique less effective, increasing your risk of pregnancy. To avoid these potentially negative Seasonique drug interactions, be sure your healthcare provider is aware of all other medications you are taking.

 

An Introduction to Seasonique Drug Interactions

Seasonique™ (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) can potentially interact with several other medicines. Some of the medicines that may lead to Seasonique drug interactions include:
 
 
    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)
 
  • Certain seizure medications, such as:
 
 
  • Cyclosporine (Gengraf®, Neoral®, Sandimmune®)
  • Modafinil (Provigil®)
  • Protease inhibitors, such as:
