Strengths of Seasonique

Seasonique™ (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) is a prescription contraceptive used by women to prevent pregnancy. It comes in tablet form and is taken by mouth once a day. There is just one strength of Seasonique, containing 0.15 mg of levonorgestrel and 0.03 mg of ethinyl estradiol per active tablet. The last seven tablets contain 0.01 mg of ethinyl estradiol per tablet, but no levonorgestrel.
Just as Seasonique only comes in one strength, there is only one standard dose for this medication. Starting at the beginning of the pack, you should take one tablet at the same time each day. Each pack will last for 91 days (13 weeks) in three trays.
The first 84 tablets (which are light blue-green) contain levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol. The last seven (the yellow tablets) contain a low dose of ethinyl estradiol, but no levonorgestrel. By taking these seven tablets, your body gets a break from the levonorgestrel, allowing you to have a period.
