How Does Vandazole Work?

This medication contains metronidazole, an antibiotic that kills certain types of bacteria. This allows the normal vaginal "flora" (the bacteria that reside in the vagina) to return to a more normal and healthy balance.

Is It Safe for Children to Use It?

Vandazole is not approved for children or adolescents, as it has not been adequately studied in people younger than 18 years old. Talk with your child's healthcare provider about the benefits and risks of using this medication in children.

Off-Label Uses of Vandazole

On occasion, a healthcare provider may recommend this medicine for something other than the approved use. This is called an "off-label" use. Using Vandazole during pregnancy would be an off-label use.
