Vitex Drug Interactions
There are several medications that may cause negative interactions when taken with vitex. Some of these medications include antipsychotic medications, dopamine agonists, and hormonal contraceptives. These drug interactions can increase your risk of side effects or make some of the medications less effective. An Overview of Drug Interactions With VitexEven though it is a natural product, vitex (chasteberry) can potentially interact with numerous different medications. Some of these medicines that may, theoretically, lead to vitex drug interactions include:
- Antipsychotic medications, such as:
- Dopamine agonists or dopamine-like medications, such as:
- Hormonal contraceptives, such as birth control pills, patches, rings, or injections
- Metoclopramide (Reglan®).
