Latisse Medication Information

Latisse® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) is available only by prescription and is approved for increasing eyelash length, thickness, and darkness. This medication is not appropriate for everyone; your healthcare provider needs complete information on your medical history and what medicines you are taking before prescribing Latisse.
Although many people do not have any problems while taking this medication, Latisse can cause side effects, such as eye redness and itching. If negative reactions do occur, however, they tend to be mild and easily treated.
This medication comes in a liquid form and is packaged with sterile, disposable applicators. It is applied once daily at night. Latisse is part of a class of drugs called prostaglandins and works by increasing the number of eyelash hairs that are in the active growth phase and by increasing the length of time the hairs stay in this phase.
