Strengths of Yasmin

Yasmin® (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol) is an oral contraceptive, commonly known as a birth control pill. It is taken by women to prevent pregnancy. Yasmin comes in one strength, containing 3 mg of drospirenone and 0.03 mg of ethinyl estradiol per active tablet (the 21 yellow tablets). The seven inactive (white) tablets do not contain any active ingredients.
Starting at the beginning of the pack, take one tablet at the same time each day. Each pack will last for 28 days (four weeks). After you finish one pack, immediately start a new one.
The first 21 tablets (which are yellow) contain the active ingredients. The last seven tablets (the white ones) do not contain any active ingredients. By taking these tablets, your body gets a break from the hormones, allowing you to have a period.
