Strengths of Yaz

Yaz® (drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol) is a prescription birth control pill used for preventing pregnancy, treating symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and treating acne in women who also desire contraception.
Yaz is not available in different strengths. This oral contraceptive only comes in one strength, containing 3 mg of drospirenone and 0.02 mg of ethinyl estradiol per active tablet (the 24 pink tablets). The four inactive (white) tablets do not contain any active ingredients.
Starting at the beginning of the Yaz pack, take one tablet at the same time each day. Each pack will last for 28 days (four weeks). After you finish one pack, immediately start a new one. The first 24 tablets (which are pink) contain the active ingredients. The last four (the white tablets) contain no active ingredients. By taking these tablets, your body gets a break from the hormones, allowing you to have a period.
